Biography

Li Baochuan has devoted himself to rhinoplasty for many years. By continually studying the literature, exploring clinical practice issues, reviewing short- and long-term outcomes, and drawing on the experience of senior colleagues, he has improved his capabilities. Rhinoplasty is not merely the shaping of a single site; it also needs to be integrated with overall temperament and facial style. Therefore, it is not only a test of technical skill but also places high demands on aesthetic judgment. In my future work, I will also uphold a “high standard” in overall aesthetic judgment and a “strict attitude” toward surgical methods in treating every operation.

Li Baochuan Rhinoplasty Case:
Primary nose: on frontal view, obvious nostril show, lack of projection, a round and blunt nasal tip with insufficient refinement, and suboptimal seagull-line aesthetics.
On lateral view, insufficient height of the nasal root and dorsum, downward rotation and retraction of the nasal tip, an overall short nose, an underfilled lower lobule, and no defining point or transition. Bilateral nasal base depression is obvious. The nostril shape is small and narrow.

This procedure used an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) + rib cartilage nasal tip approach. The rib cartilage framework of the nasal tip was reconstructed; the nasal tip was made to appear rounded, a more superior tip defining point was created, the columella was elevated and lengthened, the fullness of the lower lobule was increased, the seagull line was adjusted, and the nasal tip was wrapped with rib fascia. A fish-shaped ePTFE implant was carved to transition to the glabella, with the starting point of the nasal root placed at the interpupillary line. The nasal base was augmented to project the midface and increase fullness.
